Queen I Tour : ウィキペディア英語版
Queen I Tour

The Queen I Tour was the debut concert tour by British rock group Queen. The tour covered most major cities in the UK in support of their first studio album ''Queen''. The band played in six countries; England, Germany, Luxembourg, Scotland, Wales and Australia. The tour came to a close on 2 February 1974 in Australia. The band typically supported Mott the Hoople at many of the concerts.
==Background==
The Golders Green show was recorded and broadcast by BBC. Many partial bootlegs of the concert exist, but a full recording is not available. Six tracks are widely available (Procession, Father To Son, Son And Daughter, See What A Fool I've Been, Ogre Battle and Liar), the rock 'n' roll medley (Jailhouse Rock, Stupid Cupid, Be Bop A Lula) leaked in spring 2002 and the rest (Big Spender, Bama Lama Bama Lou) is in the BBC archives. The band also played a slightly different version of Stone Cold Crazy during this tour, even though the track would not be released until the 1974 album Sheer Heart Attack. In an interview done by the band for Sounds magazine in December 1973, John Deaco×n says the band really enjoyed the concerts in Newcastle, Glasgow or Bournemouth. Also, the band placed a lot of emphasis on their concerts in America but they did not "want to go out there too soon and blow it". One of the band members later said: "We've been thinking a lot about getting in a keyboard. We may get another guy in. It would thicken the sound up. It's a bit limited with only 3 instruments on stage, but we don't want to make it a 5-piece."
Their first gig of the year at the Marquee is set up as a 'showcase' event for Elektra executive Jack Holtzman, who may sign the band, but first wants to see them perform live before he can make a final decision. In August he band return to Trident Studios to begin work on what will become "Queen II". This time they record under proper conditions, not in downtime, and progress much more efficiently. They cover a great deal of ground and capture on tape faithful renditions of the material they have been playing live and experimenting with in rehearsals. Their show at Golders Green Hippodrome is recorded by the BBC for an In Concert broadcast, and a forty-minute edit is transmitted the following month, on 20 October, on Radio 1. This is followed by Queen’s very first concerts outside the UK, in Germany and Luxembourg, and then three concerts in London in preparation for a 25 date tour of the UK supporting Mott The Hoople.
